Sharon (Kmetz) Strabavy, age 73, of Dyer, IN, left this earth pain free and in peace on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Sharon is survived by her loving children: Mark Strabavy, Teri (Sergio) Del Real, Sheri (Ryan) Schafer, Stacie (Dennis) Comia and step-children: John (Stephanie) Strabavy and Jeri Ann (Brian) Roth; 13 grandchildren: Karyssa and Lillian Strabavy, Alyssa, Vanessa and Isabella Del Real, Drew Schafer, Malia, Jared and Gabrielle Comia, Amanda Smith, Chelsae and Caleb Strabavy and James Roth; great-grandson: Grayson Reuhl; sisters: Sandy (Larry) Benko, Pat Stewart, Judy (Jim) Ulm; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Esther Kmetz.

Sharon was a fearless woman who fought a tough battle for the last 2 years. She was a dedicated and outspoken mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was her grandkids biggest cheerleader and fan. Her biggest enjoyment was attending all of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Her unfiltered commentary in the stands will be greatly missed. Sharon also loved a good game of Rummikub, Rack-O and Canasta and also loved her fur grandbabies: Otis and Roscoe.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from to 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing at 6 feet and face masks will be required.
