Rita A. Doffin nee Miller age 88, of Crown Point, IN , passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN. She is survived by her: Husband- Alfred of 67 years 1 Son: Leon Nancy Doffin of Highland Grandchildren: Gregory Dana Doffin of Glenview, IL Anthony Doffin of Highland Nicholas Doffin of Crown Point Jeremiah Doffin of Crown Point Special Friend: Kathy Derth She was preceded in death by: Sons-Duane & Gale Doffin 2 Sisters-Leona & Charlotte and 3 Brothers-Lester, Gilbert & Harold Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 9:30 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, Crown Point and at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point Fr. Terry Bennis officiating Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Mrs. Doffin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church & Altar & Rosary Sodality in Crown Point, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and a devoted homemaker who loved gardening, flowers and playing cards. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point.

I am so glad to have met Rita.She was a very sweet person. She was very nice to talk to,and I always thought she was a good listener.She was very sharp on things we talked about.I have gone fishing with her a couple of times. It was fun,she was fun to be with. I know she is in the hands of God now, because she led such a good life. I am grateful to have known her and to be her friend.
