RICHARD W. MC DONALD age 86 of Crown Point formerly of Highland passed away Thursday January 14 2010. Survived by: Daughter: Debbie (David) Christensen of Northbrook IL Son: Gary (Janet) McDonald of Hebron Five grandchildren: Justin (Angelina) McDonald Ashley McDonald Brandon McDonald Brice Anderson and Rhalina Evans sisters: Phyllis Konopasek of Griffith Mary (Emery) Graves of Boone Grove sister-in-law: Barbara Wagner of Highland and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Virgene JeanMcDonald brother: Dean McDonald. Richard was a retired electrician from LTV Steel with 37 years of service. He was a World War II Army veteran having survived the D-Day Invasion at Omaha Beach Normady and received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the V.F.W. and a 55 year member of the American Legion having belonged to the Highland and Crown Point Posts. Richard was a loving husband father and grandfather. Friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service 811 East Franciscan Drive (on State Road 55 south of State Road 231) Crown Point on Monday January 18 2010 from 2:00-6:30 p.m. American Legion and Funeral services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Ryan Gilroy officiating. Cremation to follow service.
