I remember him telling me a story about his dad buying them new shoes… Our bought school shoes. One day they were walking along the train tracks when the tracks suddenly became really slippery! They looked down and the soles of their shoes were melting! So they tried to scrape off the melted portion onto the ties on their way home, but they ended up down to the leather that made up the inside. When they got home their dad was hot!”, Grandpa said.
