Richard Foss, age 88, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Noreen Foss; 2 daughters: Pam Foss, Sue (late Brian) Erickson; grandchildren: Marc (Diana) Foss, Trisha (Rick Baker) Foss, Cody Erickson, Alison (Matthew Disbrow) Erickson; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brooklyn Baker; and sister, Sharon Jandura.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, Michael Foss; parents: Wilbur and Adeline Foss; sisters, Marilyn Geisen and Marge Steinhilber; and brother, Jack Foss.

Richard was a carpenter and a member of local union #1005 for 40 years. He served in the US Army. Richard enjoyed golfing, traveling, and taking local car rides.

A Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Richard’s name to Dunes Hospice.

A friendship with Dick and his family goes back many years. My friendship with Dick and Noreen was in the early years of our marriages and while we had babies and more babies, getting together to play cards or having house parties. Those were good years. Over time and life changes we drifted a part but they were there when they were needed the most and Noreen knows what I mean. Rest in peace, Dick
