Phyllis Fricke, age 87 and a longtime resident of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016.

 

She leaves behind two sons, Terry (Barb) Fricke and Kevin (Sharen) Fricke; four grandchildren: Kevin, Kelly, and Kyle Fricke, Kacey (Justin) Perez; two great grandchildren: Brycen and Cambrynn Perez. Preceded in death by parents: Ralph and Faye Wright; two brothers: Gilbert and Bobby Wright; three sisters: Erma Jean Wright, Lorraine Pounds, and Kathryn Holbrook.

 

Phyllis was born October 29, 1928 in Leroy, Indiana to Ralph and Faye (Beach) Wright.  She married Elmer Fricke Jr.  on October 30, 1946.  Phyllis retired from Crown Point School Corporation after working there 30 years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of Summertree Butterflies Golf League.  She delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered in a pastoral capacity at Porter County Hospital. Phyllis graduated from Crown Point High School, class of 1946.

 

A memorial service will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly at First United Methodist Church, 352 S. Main Street with Pastor Tom Shanahan officiating.  At rest, Salem Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church.
