The Lunghofers were our next-door neighbors on Liverpool Road in Lake Station. It was still East Gary in those days (1950's). I can remember Paul telling a joke that made everybody laugh. I was just a child, but I remember our families were very close then (my dad Harold and mom Betty). We all took a trip to Altoona, PA around 1954, and we all had a good time. I'm so glad that we connected again on Facebook. Paul sent me some great links to interesting Navy stories. My condolences to his family on the loss of a wonderful man.

To all of those who loved Pap, I am so sorry for your loss. What a lovely man! Brad is my older brother, and my three children and I stayed for several weeks one summer with Angee, Brad, Matt and Pap, so I was able to talk with him often, at that time, and hear his life stories about his children, his garden, his childhood, his love of trains. It was touching to see how well Angee and Matt and Brad cared for, loved, respected, and included Pap. While my heart goes out to all who will miss him here on Earth, I KNOW he is alive and better than ever, probably gardening, with loved ones “on the other side.” He is in a happy place, and you will see him again. Hugs to all. ???

Paul will be missed by so many. He was an interesting man who could entertain you for hours with his experiences. His grand daughter Angel Andrews and her husband Brad took Paul in to their home for Pap’s last chapter. He was treated with such compassion and loving care that I know was so truly felt by Paul. Godspeed Pap and enjoy the Heavenly reunion with your loved ones that preceded you in death! RIP for a live well lived!
