Dear Mrs.Catchur, Mark, Greg and John, I was so saddened to hear of Matt’s passing. I remember meeting Matt when we first moved to Chapel Manor and how nice and welcoming he was to me. He was a great guy with a warm smile! I am so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathies, Maria Kyres Pavlou

I was a customer at CVS. I loved talking to Matt about most everything. He was just a really good guy. It seems crazy but just our short conversations endeared me to him. He was just a great, down to earth guy. I loved him and will miss him. It makes no sense that he’s gone. I always knew he was there when I saw his BMW. Life stinks sometimes and this is one of those times. Good bye Matt. You’re missed.

We knew Matt from our local CVS and I could tell he was a kind, genuine person anytime we spoke. He watched as our family grew over the years and was always excited to see the kids, or would ask how they were doing if they weren’t there. He will be missed by many in our neighborhood. Condolences to Matt’s family and friends.

Stunned by the news. I am still in state of disbelief. Matt was about the toughest person I've ever known. But that toughness didn't shrink his heart, and sweetness and willingness to help others. One time back in the day, I was attending class in Florida. I had zero options on how to get my guitar amplifier to Florida. It was a last minute thing but Matt had an inside on how to get it done. It got done. I am certain his contributions to the MHS championship caliber football team were critical to the greatness of that team. Matt had another nickname given by Tommy Kyres. Matt Snell played football on the Iddings Elementary School playground. We used to literally "run with the bulls" at Pierce Jr High. When the chow bell rang it was a race to the cafeteria. We were in 7th and 8th grade choir with Mr Clark. All of us were sopranos. LOL. I marveled at Matts self-control while wrestling for the Bucs. He was always trying so hard and succeeding to get into a weight class. We shared many classes together at Iddings Elementary, Pierce Jr High and Merrillville High School. Matt. I already miss you and wish we had been able to attend the "Burning Man" as we had discussed a while back. Im praying for youre friends and family. Mark W Mumaw
