Thinking of you today Mom. The tree I planted for you where you used to go to pick tomatoes in the backyard is growing well. I miss you.

Marlene was a beautiful person. I loved her very much. I remember her in such cherished ways with my family and in my youth in Brazil. I know she was a special person and beautiful mom to her 2 boys Alex and Phillip. She will be missed. Greg Ducas

My Mom was very unique. Although born in Brazil, she acclimated to the US very well. She was a determined and very hard-working woman. She always won awards at the hospitals she worked at. She knew how to speak fluent English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French. She put up with a lot from me growing up and I think she realized us helping her the last 3 years was a thank you. She could be real funny too. Most of my my funniest memories in my life involved her with me. She was not afraid to stand up for herself in any situation (and I mean any situation) and I think I got that from her. She had lots of friends, but she was particularly close to my wife’s family, especially Consuelo. She, along with my dad, raised 2 good boys and we will keep her memory alive.

Marlene Ferguson November 11, 1934 - May 14, 2022 This is how I will choose to remember my mom. This picture was taken in 1996 and she was so very happy that day. As nutty and frustrating as she could be, she always loved and cared deeply for the family and would have my back no matter what happened. If someone needed to be called out for something, she was first in line and took no prisoners along the way (that included me, too). Anyone who ever met her knows she would make an impression you would never forget. She was a bundle of energy and never seemed to get tired...that was my mom. Born in Brazil, immigrated to the US, married my dad, raised two sons and had six grandchildren. She had a full life by any measure. I'm thankful I was able to spend some time with her recently and she enjoyed one final Mother's Day. She passed peacefully and is in a much better place. I love you, mom...you can rest now.
