I'M SO SORRY HEARING ABOUT LUKE'S PASSING. HE HAD CALLED ME BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2005 WHEN MY YOUNGEST SON WAS KILLED IN A WRECK. HE TOLD ME THAT HE THOUGHT OF ME & MY OLDER SISTER AS LITTLE SISTERS. WE LIVED ACROSS THE STREET FROM HIM. HIS MOTHER WAS LIKE OUR GRANDMOTHER. THEY WERE ALWAYS MORE LIKE FAMILY THAN JUST NEIGHBORS. HE WAS 12 YEARS OLDER THAN US & WE WERE PROBABLY A PAIN TO BE AROUND BUT HE ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF PATIENCE WITH US. ONE OF MY FOND MEMORIES OF LUKE WAS WHEN HE BUILT US A WONDERFUL HUT LIKE FORT TO PLAY IN BEHIND HIS HOUSE. HE WAS LIKE TARZAN AND I GUESS WE WERE MORE LIKE LITTLE APES. WE HAVE SORT OF KEPT UP WITH HIM & HIS FAMILY OVER THE YEARS BUT HE WAS ALWAYS JUST LUKE TO US. HE WAS A VERY KIND & LIKEABLE PERSON.EVEN THOUGH WE WERE SO FAR APART OVER THE YEARS, THERE WAS A SPECIAL BOND BETWEEN OUR FAMILIES.I HOPE THAT HE INTRODUCES HIMSELF TO MY SON IN HEAVEN. I KNOW THAT HE HAS SOME WONDERFUL PEOPLE WAITING TO GREET HIM THERE. MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS WIFE BARBARA,& TO HIS CHILDREN & GRANDCHILDREN.

My family's sincere condolences go to Luke's family. Luke was a fine person and he will always be remembered by me and my sister. Luke was like our big brother. He was probably 12 or 13 when our family moved across the street from him. We were just babies and I'm sure he was stuck looking after us. I'm sure we got on his nerves at times...but, he never let us know that. He would pick at us and we would pick at him. He always took time to entertain us. His family was like our family. I'll never forget the time he stuffed and pickled the baby alligator in rubbing alcohol. He put it in a really pretty jar. Our parents brought this alligator from Florida when returning from a vacation. We kept it in a large galvanized tub... but, it didn't live very long. I remember Luke was interested in taxidermy, at the time, so he decided he would stuff it for us, so we could keep it forever. We carried that alligator to school for "show and tell" for years - at least until a friend accidently dropped the jar and broke it. We have many wonderful memories of Luke and his family, as well has his black cocker spaniel, that we also loved. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Barbara, Kim, Jeff and the grandchildren. We know he will be greatly missed. With love and May God Bless. Carolyn, Lesa, Hugh & Peggy
