My prayers are with Mr. Timberlake’s family. Mr. Timberlake was the choir director when I was in high school during the early to mid 1970’s. I accompanied all his choirs by the time I was a senior. He is responsible for my love of plants and gardening. My dad even help me set up a plant light in our basement for all the plant starts Mr. Timberlake gave me. He had a plant light in his classroom!! Mr. Timberlake was one of the kindest and best teachers!! I am now a music teacher. This is my 42nd year!! All my memories of his choirs and being his accompanist are the best memories. I’m really sorry for your loss!! Laurie Rockensuess

Moved to California 24 years ago and just found out Lew passed away. Lew was a great guy. He played keyboard on my first album and I will treasure that album forever. I am sorry I did not get back to Indiana before he died but will always remember his musical talent and the joy he gave and received while playing his music. Rest in peace Lew. You will be missed but always remembered. C. Christopher Carder

Here is one of my favorite pictures of him enjoying himself in the Madrigal at church.

Mr. Timberlake as I knew him high school, Lew, later from church, was a wonderful friend. He was kind, generous and very funny. He was my choir teacher at Elson and would constantly scold me for talking and NOT singing! I loved him as an instructor. Lew's humor was dry but VERY funny. I loved spending time with him at Rittenhouse and leaving him notes if he was away. He will be missed so very much but has a great job in Heaven as a stand-up or choir director!

Rittenhouse Village left a message on June 8, 2022:
We are sadden by the loss of this wonderful man. Rittenhouse has many fond memories of Lew over the years but the one we enjoyed time and time again was the chorus break out in the dining room with many other residents. He will be forever missed at Rittenhouse.
