Konstantina Dimitrou Tsahas (neé Tsarnas), age 62, of Lake Station, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Konstantina is survived by her loving husband, Nikolaos Tsahas; mother, Despina Tsarnas; daughter, Despina (Peter) Karnavas; sons: Johnathan (Kalliopi) Tsahas and Dimitri (Thimitra) Tsahas; sister, Angela, brother-in-law, Ipokratis, and niece, Lia Xylas; grandchildren: Kyriaki Tsahas, Rozina Karnavas, Konstandina Tsahas, Dimitri Karnavas, Konstandina Karnavas, and Nikolas Tsahas. Konstantina was also close to her many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and dearest friends.
Konstantina was preceded in death by her father, Dimitrios Tsarnas.
Konstantina was born November 17, 1957 in Sydney, Australia to the late Dimitrios and Mrs. Despina Tsarnas. In 1974, after moving from Ikaria, Greece, to Gary, IN, she met her future loving husband, Nikolaos Tsahas. They were married in January 1975 where they would spend 45 years together.
Konstantina had an infectious personality and was always described as having a sweet and kind soul. She had many hobbies which included knitting, playing Bingo, traveling, and most of all spending time with her precious grandchildren. She also served various roles of Agia Marina, a philanthropic organization, for 30 years. She was a current member of St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Due to CDC guidelines and the health of our community, private services with only immediate family will be handled by Geisen Funeral & Cremation Services in Merrillville, IN. Konstantina will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Ss. Constantine and Helen Food Pantry or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
