J. PHILIP JENSEN and JULIA V. (nee Magyar) JENSEN have passed away. J. PHILIP JENSEN age 94 of Merrillville passed away Thursday January 6 2011. He is survived by his brother Ralph Jensen of Hobart sisters-in-law Margaret (Joe) Majoris of WY Pauline Magyar of Steger IL. Preceded in death by parents: J. Philip and Rose (Behnke) Jensen brothers: George Robert and Richard Jensen sisters: Leona Emily Marie and Jane. JULIA V. (nee Magyar) JENSEN age 94 of Merrillville passed away Sunday January 9 2011. She is survived by her sister Margaret (Joe) Majoris of WY sister-in-law Pauline Magyar of Steger IL brother-in-law Ralph Jensen of Hobart. Preceded in death by parents George and Tressa (Uveges) Magyar sister Mary Gossick brother Joe Magyar. Phil and Julia are survived by their five children: Julie (Pat) Mansfield of CA Phil (Roni) Jensen of Chesterton George Jensen of Merrillville James (Maggie) Jensen of Merrillville and Janice (Jack) Churilla of Merrillville 11 grandchildren: Jennifer (Keith) Gyger Patrick (Karyn) Mansfield Brian (Lily) Mansfield Sean Mansfield Dylan (Alison) Jensen David (Becky) Jensen Tim (fiancee Alyssa) Jensen Matthew Jensen Katherine Jensen Michael (Erica) Churilla Philip Churilla five great-grandchildren: Joshua Christopher Ryan Milena and Juliana. Mr. and Mrs. Jensen were members of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Mr. Jensen was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a World War II Army veteran having served as a Lieutenant in the 691st Field Artillery Battalion in France Belgium and Germany. He was a graduate of Emerson High School and was a television technician for Cosmopolitan Radio Company and a former employee of Sears. Mrs. Jensen was a gentle loving wife and mother who never had an unkind word for anyone. Friends and Family may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Wednesday January 12 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service at 2:15 pm. Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Jensen will be held Thursday January 13 2011 9:30 am at Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 am from St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church 801 W. 73rd Ave Merrillville with Rev. Joseph Kelchak officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville.
