JOHN W. ELLIS age 78 of Portage passed away Sunday January 25 2009. Survived by four children: Earl (Susan) Clay Jr. of South Haven John W. (Laura) Ellis of Valparaiso Cindy Miller of Portage Jeff Ellis of Portage five grandchildren: Earl Clay III Kevin (Casey) Clay Becky (Justin) Anderson Kim Corzan John W. (Rina) Ellis Jr. eight great grandchildren brother Joe Ellis of Tennessee sister Joan (John) Bogusz of Tennessee. Preceded in death by wife Wilma G. (nee Ramsey) granddaughter Katie Ellis two brothers: D. H. and Bill Ellis. John was a retired machinist from Alden Press with 40 years of service. He was an Army veteran who served as a Paratrooper and was an avid fisherman archer hang-glider and golfer. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 2700 Willowcreek Rd. Portage on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday January 28 2009 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ulrich officiating.
