Mark Pofelski left a message on April 9, 2008:
To the Rupcich family, my deepest regrets on your loss. My last personal contact with the family was more than 40 years ago when I was in grammar school on the East Side. Ricky lived right across the street from another buddy, Billy K. The three of us had some good times as kids back in the day. Now I have moved to Crown Point where I care for my mother, Annette Powell and am neighbors with Glen and Betty Jones. When I mentioned to Glen that I read about Mr. Rupcich and the family history, he surprised me by filling in the link to his good long time friends here. It is truly a small world at times. Again, my sympathy to the Rupcich family.

I had the pleasure to meet John in 2005 while attending the superbowl with Rick. He was so charming and had more great stories to tell me than any one I have ever meet! He welcomed me into his home with his wife Dorthy as if I had known them for 25 years. I feel blessed to have known him. Love, Joe & Judy Spallino

To Mrs.Rupcich and the family, my thouhts and prayers are with you. With some assurance I will tell you this, sooner or later the grief will go away and what's left are good memories. When learning of Mr Rupcich's passing, the emotions were many, including many fond memories of what my dad refered to my mom as your restaurant. Mom and Dad were Marge and Jim Vanek, I'm their son Jack. Many a times while traversing the Skyway with the grandkids, I point out to them where Rup's used to be. Lord... the memories! God keep you well!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Cathy and Family: I am so sorry to have read that your father has passed away. It is so very difficult to lose a parent. The pain never goes away; you just learn to deal with it as time goes on. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. May God grant him eternal peace. Sincerely, Nancy Strezovski
