JOAN F. MULLOY, age 95 of Merrillville and Hobart, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018.
Survived by eight sons: Robert (late Barbara) Nault, Gerald (Nadine) Nault, Tom (Joanne) Nault, and John (Lisa) Nault; Patrick (Jane) Mulloy, Rev. James K. Mulloy, Thomas (Sue) Mulloy, Martin (Janet) Mulloy; daughters-in-law, Kathy and Sharon Nault; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Arlene (late Clyde) Carney, Mary (late John) Komar, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first husband, William A. Nault, second husband, James J. Mulloy; son, William F. Nault; two grandchildren: David and Kevin Nault; sister, Donna Zimmer; and parents, Peter and Emma Freisen.
Joan was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Merrillville, Rosary Sodality, and the Marian Choir. After graduating from Ursuline High School in Youngstown, OH, she received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Gary. She was a registered nurse for over 36 years with the Mercy Hospital, County Board of Health, and many other employers. Joan was a volunteer at St. Mary Hospital, Hobart for over 35 years. She also volunteered for many blood drives, was a member of Daughters of Isabella, Optimist Club, National Association of Catholic Nurses, Andrean Parents’ Club, and was an avid Bears football and Purdue basketball fan.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 9:30 am. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 am. from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5885 Harrison St., Merrillville with Rev. James K. Mulloy and Rev. James Meade con-celebrating. At rest Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
