Jill Anne Palmer, age 47 of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on March 2, 2021 at the VNA of Northwest Indiana after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 22, 1973 in Buffalo, New York to Kenneth B. and Janet L. (Brown) Vandermer.
Jill is survived by her children, Abigail (fiancée, Colin Campbell), Sophia, and Nathanael Palmer; parents, Kenneth and Janet Vandermer; brother, Kevin (Amy) Vandermer; mother-in-law, Joann Palmer; sister-in-law, Lisa (Tim) McGinnis; niece, Peyton McGinnis; and nephews, Mason Vandermer and Keegan McGinnis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pastor Kevin Palmer; and father-in-law, Wallace Palmer.
Jill was most recently a Study Hall Teacher at Chesterton High School. She received a Bachelor degree from Penn State University and was a huge Pittsburg Steelers Fan. Jill was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan City and was very involved with the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1237 E. Coolspring Avenue, Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor David Solum officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.
