James K. Saylor, age 80, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Pineville, KY to Vernon and Nettie (Spurlock) Saylor who preceded him in death.

James married his loving wife, Barbara (Bunton) Saylor on September 12, 1964 in Michigan City. Barbara still survives in Michigan City.

James is also survived by his children, James and Gregory Saylor; grandchildren, Gregory and Tyler Saylor and Hailey Comer and Travis Germain; great grandchildren, Aleena, Jaxton, Adelynn, Nova, Korbin, Harmony, Layla, Sophia, and Davinah; brothers, John (Gail) Saylor and Ronnie Saylor; sisters, Erie May Pritchard and Wanda Long.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Eve Ellen Landrum, Dorothy Portinga, Jess Taylor, Denver Taylor; David Taylor, Beaula Taylor, Connie Saylor, and Paul Saylor.

James retired from U.S. Steel Gary Works after 36 years. He loved doing woodwork, hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, vacationing, and traveling. James loved playing with his grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted with Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN 46360.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Gospel Church of Deliverance in James’ name.
