James E. Chamberlain, age 91 of Michigan City, passed away on Tuesday, June 30th at home. James was born on October 15, 1928 in Herman, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Vera (Bell) Chamberlain. On August 9, 1950, he married Vera M. Beard who survives.
James leaves a son, James M. Chamberlain of Michigan City. Also surviving are his sisters, Lou Taylor and Lois Gosney of Jonesboro, AR and Virginia Chamberlain of Crystal City, MO as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were three brothers and two sisters.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. James was a wonderful and loving father and husband and will be dearly missed.
Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN 46360 on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 11:00 a.m-1:00 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Rumley, of Evergreen Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City.
Covid-19 precautions will be followed, with social distancing and face masks required.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of James may be given to Evergreen Baptist Church.
