All thru high school (HHS Hawks) Jim was a gentle giant. During our football games he would watch and compliment the other teams players. We may have been competing with them, but he never let it be a personal grudge. Jim, you are one of a kind, and you will be missed. STP, and the lineman’s Gruber Pride.

I am so sorry to just now hear of Jim's passing. I will never forget him from High School. We had a class together where we had to get married, do ck book, plan lives and get divorced. Jim was my husband in that class. He was a warm, kind and funny kid. Running into him and Pam at reunions was fun. So glad he had a Happy Life!! Prayers and hugs go out to all of you in your loss.

Kesli (Blankenship) Bradbury left a message on March 19, 2023:
Jim has always been the “dad” of the neighborhood! Need firewood, call Jim. Need help with an animal in the house, call Jim! Growing up him and Pam ALWAYS sponsored us for sports, buying cookies, flowers, whatever the item was, they were down to help! Greatest “family” around! Because that’s what Jim treated everyone like, FAMILY. There are not many people like that left in this world, so extremely sad to have one less. Jim is and always will be someone I strive to be and teach my children to be like… kind, helpful, and generous, but most of all contagious. Jim’s smile, inviting hug, and always bubbly personality was FOREVER contagious. Honestly don’t believe I’ve ever heard him say one negative thing after being neighbors for over 18 years… the world may be a little less full without him here, but that’s beyond made up for by the impression he left on everyone he’s ever met. I’ll miss my “neighbor dad” more than anyone can imagine. Catch some fish up for me in heaven, you’ve earned anything available up there! The best kind of person there ever was… RIP. Love, “neighbor daughter” Kesli

I remember when Pam met Jim, he swept her off her feet. He was so kind and gentle, I know there are a lot of broken hearts - take solace knowing how much he loved his family and his beloved wife. He will be missed, but never forgotten!

My heart is crushed to lose my friend Jim. We moved in 22 years ago and Jim was one of the first people we met that welcomed us to the street. Since then Jim and I got to know each other. His yearly fish fry was always the highlight of the street, especially when I would light up my police car in his yard and squeal the sirens a time or two to let Jim know I was there for some grub. You will be truly missed my friend. Until we meet again!
