Jamal Mohammed Agemy age 55, died at home on October 28, 2022 with Doris, Jordin, and Hanna at his side after a valiant 850-day battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jamal was born on December 10, 1966 in Michigan City. He graduated from Elston High School and attended Purdue North Central. He was a very well loved and respected Real Estate Agent with Century 21 for the past 15 years. Throughout his career he has been recognized as a 10-time Quality Service Award Winner and achieved the following sales levels: 3 Emeralds, 2 Masters Emeralds, 3 Ruby, 2 Masters Ruby, and he achieved the Multi-Million Dollar Producer award 11 times.
He was a pillar of our community. He taught Junior Achievement at Joy Elementary School for several years, he delivered for Meals on Wheels, and took Jordin and Hanna along to show them the value of helping others. He was a member of the LaPorte County Tax Board Association, and he served as a member for the Deserving Children’s Charity. He was also a member of the LaPorte County Association of REALTORS.
Besides spending time with his family and friends, Jamal had a passion for travel, (especially California – home of Jennifer Aniston), boating on Pine Lake, and enjoying a good cigar.
Those of you that knew him well know his love for crazy socks. So, as a tribute to Jamal, we encourage you to wear your craziest socks to the funeral services.
Jamal is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 28 years Doris, his son Jordin, and daughter Hanna; mother Amira Agemy; sisters Fatima Agemy and Salwa (Maher) Mawaldi; brother Samer (Kim) Agemy, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Hajj Iaal Agemy in 1980.
Our family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Franciscan Health Woodland Cancer Care Center for providing exemplary care and making us feel like family. You were always able to put a smile on Jamal’s face.
We invite friends to visit with us on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm at The Islamic Center of Michigan City located at 1606 N 500 E, Michigan City, IN. Additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at The Islamic Center. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
