Jacquelyn “Jackie” Stahl

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Stahl (nee Springer), age 69, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.

Jackie is survived by her husband of 46 years, James Stahl; 4 children: James (Stefanie) Stahl, Jason Stahl, Joshua (Dr. Chasity) Stahl, Jorie (Shawn) O’Keefe; 5 grandchildren: Jack and Danny Stahl, Mackenzie Stahl, Madison and Aidan O’Keefe; brother, James (Mindy) Springer; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Vivian Springer; infant brother, Joey; and sister, Jill Springer.

Jackie spent her first years in the Glen Park section of Gary and then grew up in Merrillville. She was a graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1973. Jackie earned her B.S. in Education at St. Joseph College in Rensselaer and her Master’s in Education at Purdue University.
She lovingly taught many students from 1977-2013 at Eisenhower, Lake Street, Solon Robinson, and St. Mary Elementary School. Jackie also served as school principal at St. Edward Catholic School in Lowell, IN. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Prayers will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 9:15 AM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 8303 Taft St., Merrillville, IN 46410 with Fr. Kevin Huber officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jackie’s name to Alzheimers Association of Northwest Indiana.
