Gloria J. Penfold passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on August 26, 1930; the youngest of five children born to Charles A. and Loretta (Sudrow) Swanson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Cottrell; brothers, Charles, William, and Kenneth (Loyette) Swanson; son, Steven Penfold. Surviving are children, Daryl Penfold, Karen Bammer, and Charles (Cynthia) Penfold, Juliet (Terry) Penfold-Fields. Gloria was blessed with numerous grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other family members who loved her. Gloria was known to be a kind and loving spirit who loved reading, playing bridge, and enjoyed her happy hour watching Judge Judy. She enjoyed traveling and new experiences. She was especially proud of traveling to Pike’s Peak on a motorcycle. Gloria had a wonderful sense of humor along with a great laugh. She embraced her children’s friends and family and they became her extended family. Due to the coronavirus, no services are planned at this time but a Celebration of Life is being planned for family and friends at a later date.
