Frank E. Wagner, age 93, of Portage, formerly of Hobart & Gary, IN, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Bill) Lashenik; three grandchildren: David (Stacy) Lashenik, Becky (Rafael) Rivera and Alexis (John) Considine; five great-grandchildren: Owen and Nathan Lashenik & Sophia, Alex and Lily Considine.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Wagner (nee Jaksa); son, Gary Wagner; sister, Lee Maryonovich; and parents: Frank & Mary Wagner.
Frank was raised in the Glen Park section of Gary and was a graduate of Emerson High School, Class of 1948. He married his wife, Anne on October 15, 1949 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Frank served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. After honorable discharge, he worked many years at the Budd Company and later for Ford Motor Company. Frank was a member of the Hobart and Lake Station American Legions and the C.F.U. He enjoyed bowling, traveling and gardening. In his later years at the Rittenhouse Assisted Living in Portage, Frank became the resident “artist”. He loved coloring intricate pictures and sharing them with everyone. Frank was also known as a “Jack of all trades”. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Geisen-Pruzin Funeral & Cremation Services, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410, from 11:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jamie Constant officiating.
Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
