FRANCIS “FRANK” JOSEPH KRANE, age 82 of Hobart, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
He is survived by his three sisters: Angela (late Larry) Judge, Loraine (Dr. Robert) Novak, Judith (William) Calvert; his four nieces: Amy, Lisa, Karen & Katie; and his two great-nephews: Liam & Matthew. Preceded in death by parents Frank & Helen Krane.
Frank was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School, Class of 1956 and then earned a bachelor’s in business administration from St. Joseph College in Calumet City. He then worked for and retired from U.S. Steel, Gary Sheet & Tin Mill as a supervisor with 20+ years of service. After retirement, he then worked in operations of plant management at Valparaiso University. Frank was an avid fisherman, golfer, and trap shooter and he won multiple tournaments in each. He loved to travel to participate in all his passions, even going so far as the Artic Circle to fish! He was devoted to his nieces and was a dear and protective brother to his sisters. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held for his family and friends in Michigan at a later date.
