FRANCES KAMINSKI (nee Prosenik), age 97; formerly of Hobart and Gary, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

She is survived by her son Edward (Kristine) Kaminski; four grandchildren: Stephen (Lea) Kaminski, Sandra (Joseph) Knox, Greg Kaminski, Teresa (Carlos Pettiford) Kaminski; six great-grandchildren: Abigail, Teagan, Garrett, Carmella, Carmaya, Carmyn; and her special nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Edward.

Mrs. Kaminski was a former member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, a member of PNA Madame Curie Circle, Daughters of Isabella, and a graduate of Froebel High School.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55) on Thursday from 3:00-7:00 pm. Madame Curie service at 3:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 am. DIRECTLY from Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine, 5755 Pennsylvania St., Merrillville. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery.

Mary and I send our sincerest sympathy to Ed and his family. We were fortunate to have visited Frances in early 2017 and we gave her a jar of green tomatoes canned by our son using the Jefferson Tap recipe. We have such fond memories of Friday fish frys and all the fun times we had as neighbors of the Kaminskis.

Frances was such a dignified, proper lady through and through. Years back, she came to my husband for dental services and we became acquainted. She was intelligent, attractive and true to her heritage. She had been raised really well and her family can be very proud of her life.

Frances was a good friend and neighbor to the entire Kallok family, especially my mother Helen. It was an honor and pleasure to have her in our lives.

Ed: You have my prayers and sympathies at this time. Our families were so intertwined back on Delaware St when we grew up, and then again when our Moms became such close friends again when they lived in the same apartment complex in Hobart. My prayers for the Kaminski family! Frances was my mom Helen's good friend. I have memories from growing up on Delaware Street in Gary, to taking mom and Frances to the casinos when they were neighbors in Hobart! Sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral.
