Doug was a fine man. He lived a good life and , with Wanda, raised a beautiful family. Doug was always a good friend to my family. The memorial video was beautiful. Thank you for including pictures of my mom, Sarah Cooper, she truly loved him. Doug was good friends with my brother, Conway, at Purdue University and then at the Gary church. He was very supportive to my sister in-law, Frances, when Conway passed away and to all of us. I am so glad that Doug decided, many years ago, to live his life for the Lord. May Jesus strengthen the Stamper family in this time of grief.

A couple things that I remember of Uncle Doug that always made me smile. When I stayed at Aunt Wanda and Uncle Doug’s house ( as a little girl I stayed there often 🥰) Uncle Doug would come home from work , put down his work bag in dining room and look to see what’s for dinner, he would rub his hands together real fast with excitement and the biggest grin on his face ! He loved Aunt Wanda’s home cooked meal! He really loved Aunt Wanda , while relaxing in living room he would so lovingly, teasingly call out her name WAAANNNDDDAAA! I think he wanted some flirty attention 🤣 He was so in involved with his kids academics and education ! I remember countless times he would be sitting in living room talking / teaching with his kids with much attention and love! He was a good man that loved his family so dearly! I will always love and remember you Uncle Doug!! ❤️

Wanda, I’m so sorry for your loss. Doug was a great person I always enjoyed talking with him. He would stop and pick me up for church when my mom couldn’t go. I will keep you in my prayers.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
