My memories of Dorothy goes back 40+ years when she came to my home weekly to help keep it in order with myself..a working widow...and my family of 4 daughters. She was such a talented person and I enjoyed her keen sense of humor...she and I always had a good laugh about daily activities of my daughters. She loved our dog, Joey, and he adored her..he managed to disappear several times and somehow found her car at the townhouse...she would call and say Are you missing a son..he was the only male in our female household. She also took on the job of papering my kitchen/dinette and it turned out perfect. After the girls were on their own, I lost track of Dorothy...myself and my daughters send our sympathy to each of had a Great Mom!!my husband and I are both not well and have a limited lifestyle...hence I missed Dorothy's funeral.

Mrs. Scheidt was everyone's mom. To her extended family, she tempered her love with genuine concern for each kid. So even if she wasn't YOUR mother, you knew she took her surrogate duties seriously. Not a mean bone in her body. Loved everyone and was, in turn, loved by everyone. Deeply missed - her humor and the perpetually raised eyebrow. Life amused her and it made her fun to be around. Thank you, Dorothy, for being our mom.
