I'm so very sorry to hear the sad news about Dax. I've thought of him fondly over the last couple years since we spent some time together in South Haven when Josh and Lauren were married. What a delightful, personable, likeable guy! Please accept my condolences, to your whole family. Carla

If you could look up Daxtyn Lampa in a dictionary, it would state: (An extraordinary person ; a true friend; the perfect nurse ; a GRAND human being). It was an honor to work side by side with Dax in the ER at Loyola.. I will miss him and pray for him every day. His smile will forever be engraved in my memories. I want to thank his parents, brother, wife, family and friends, because of you, he has imprinted on all of us. May his soul be at peace. Love you, friend ❤

Dax was so well liked at Valley ER. He was one of the night crew and so much fun to be around. He was one of the most caring nurses I have worked with, and our hearts are broken in Vegas for his family.

It has been so many years Jimmy Lampa but I couldn't pass this very sad obituary without giving you and you wife, Dax's wife and sibling my heartfelt condolences. I too lost my daughter Lisa Rosaschi last year. Knowing if your son was as compassionate and full of fun like his father was, and as I read these memories he was an incredible person. My prayers are with you all and my memories stay alive with the Lampa family

I've always been on edge when I worked in the ER. I haven't worked with so many patients, staff, docs, equipment, in such a small space in rapid succession. Your example, your confidence and kindness, and ability to calm children having the worst nights of their young lives and adults likewise, it was inspiring for me. I had hope to try to be comfortable in my skin as you have. Occasionally you had to step in when I couldn't be in two places at once. Thank you for putting our patients first and being someone we relied upon. Your shining example will be a standard that we will try to live up to.

I was so deeply sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I was so blessed to have met Daxtyn along my nursing journey and to work alongside of him in the ER. He was one of my first ER friends, always checking on me when I was new to make sure I didn’t need anything, and if I did, he was always there to lend a helping hand. His work ethic was amazing and he taught me so much in the short year I knew him in the ER. I know when things get crazy at work now, and now that I’m not the new person anymore, I will always keep Daxtyn in my mind and aspire to be like him and lend a helping hand to others. May you Rest In Peace Daxtyn!!

My deepest sympathy to Daxtyn's family and friends on your loss. I am a professor at Purdue University Northwest and Daxtyn was in the policy class I'm teaching this summer. He was an excellent student - insightful and participatory. It was a joy to get to know him a little this semester. He will be greatly missed. Patti

Dax was an amazing person to be around. His depth as a person made his presence a delight and a challenge. Working alongside him in the ER, his excellence in everything he did made him someone that I loved to work with, and it was an excellence that he showed with a quiet sort of strength. It challenged me — made me want to be better. My love and prayers for him and all who have been touched by his life.

Dax was such a beautiful soul. I'm so lucky to have gotten the chance to know him and how amazing he was. I will never forget how he went above and beyond for my freshman homecoming after being ditched 30 minutes before the dance. Or how he took me to a Sox game because I have never been and it is my favorite team. He will be greatly missed, and I give my condolences to the family.

Dr. Joe Mueller left a message on July 30, 2020:
Daxtyn was a great guy and an excellent nurse. He gave me a hard time all the time, one of the few people who could keep me off balance. He did it with a smile always, so I knew it was a sign of affection. A neighbor of mine told me she always went to LUMC ED rather than the fancy close ones because “The nurses at Loyola’s ED are much better.” She described a visit when the nurse got the IV immediately despite her husband’s history of difficult access. I asked her who the nurse was. She said it was Daxtyn. I am glad that I told him about that. God bless his soul.

The time that Daxtyn and I worked together was only but a year or so but felt much longer. We shared so many stories, nursing tips, and fears. Daxtyn gave me the strength to be me and move on in life. Sorry you never got to meet my wife like we promised each other. Thank you for the laughs and tears. I will never forget the 5 minute vitals and your face as we tried to keep a straight face. My condolences to your wife, your Mom, and family.

I really enjoyed working with Dax in the ER. He was so sweet and easy to get along with. Dax was also a very thoughtful and a caring person. One is my most fond memories was when he and another coworker hosted a full party for MY appreciation day. It was literally a party just to show I was appreciated as a coworker. To be thought about and recognize by surprise was an amazing feeling. To know Dax was to love him and he was indeed a sweetheart. Dax I for sure appreciate all the time we worked with one another. A great nurse is a social workers dream. You was for sure a great nurse! May you Rest In Peace Dax. ❤️

In our hearts forever. The smile, the laugh, the practical jokes, the dedication and love for those who needed healthcare, a pat on the back, or a big hug----and especially Dax's huge sacrifice as a nurse during these troubling times. We will miss you, but know you are forever with us as the sun rises each day. To Christy, Jimmy, Christopher, Hailey and families, please know that we love and grieve with you.
