David Sanford “Banjo” Lykins, age 66, of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
David was born on April 20, 1955 in Michigan City, IN to William Ermal and Opal (Cole) Lykins who preceded him in death.
David married his loving wife, Sherry (Farrow) Lykins who survives him in LaPorte, IN.
He is survived by his children, Darriell Lykins, Janice (Jason) Hall, Stacy Long, and Samantha (Scott) Pegg; grandchildren, Jason Jr., Zyerah, Oliver, Destiny, Justin, Syrinity, Talisa (Jarren), Alyssa, David, and William; and two great grandchildren, Coraline and Alex.
David was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Darriell Lykins; and son-in-law, Jared Long.
David loved to play his banjo and play music with his friends. He loved to help his family and friends with anything they needed. He was an all around handy-man. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made to David’s family.
Family and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 8:30 am until the time of service at 10:30 am at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN 46360 with Pastor Pickens officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
