I had the pleasure of having Mr Mayerik as a wood shop instructor in 1970. Very good memories, and one of the few teachers that I remember very clearly and fondly. To this day, I still have a little book end that I made in his class!

Teri and family; Dan was a great teacher and an even better man. I enjoyed him as a teacher when I was a student and the shop teachers were the authority figures in the school, and later as a co-worker and friend at Morton. Cousin Dan and I grew up together in Gary. We were buds at every family gathering, which were frequent! Every birthday, Anniversary, religious and secular holiday the family would get together. We were close, and remained so all our lives, even though we lived in different states. My heart breaks for Terri, Kari, Nick, Richard, his grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him. Dan was a kind, loving, caring man with a huge heart. He leaves a void in my heart. Be at peace with the Lord until we are together again.
