I remember Mr. Onda being my neighbor in Glen Park. Of course, I was a little girl when I remember this kind man, sweet wife and 2 little boys. My parents were Andy and Helen Mayoch. He made an impact on my young life and I pray he is at peace. My sincere condolences to his family. ?

Our hearts ache over your passing. God chooses when & where, that we have no control over. But Bob is now in the comfort zone of our LORD. We can see him right now, with his Norton hat on, swimming in the pool. The beach & white sands of Marco Island will never be the same. However, we do believe that his footprints will remain there forever, as he will always remain in our hearts. He was such a kind, laid back gentleman with a smile made of gold. Our deepest sympathy Harriet, to you & your lovely family. Sending prayers to all of you & we will light a candle for him & let him know, how much he is loved & missed. Take care of yourself Harriet & hold on tight to the wonderful memories, of you two lovebirds........With Sympathy, Carolyn & Bob Vaughn

I have such good memories of Mr. Onda teaching geography at Wirt High School back in the late 60's. He was witty, composed, very knowledgable and handled unruly or daydreaming kids with his favorite phrase at the time:"Hey Oz!". Of all the teachers at Wirt High School that I respected and admired, Bob Onda was right at the top. RIP, a life well lived.

To The Onda Family, Mr. Onda was my favorite teacher at Wirt High School and was greatly influential in encouraging me to become a lawyer. I am forever grateful to have known Mr. Onda as a teacher and mentor and to have observed his style of handling all of his students with dignity and grace. Mr. Onda instilled in me the confidence that I could accomplish whatever I could envision. I was fortunate to have had a chance encounter with him a few years ago and told him all of this- to which he replied, "You are too kind". I am a better person because of you Mr. Onda. Thank you.

Bob, Marco Island will never be the same without you. I have so many fond memories that I will cherish until my time comes. Who am I going to share my Mrs. Brown videos with? your laughter was infectious. Your smile lit up a room. Your warm heart and kindness was like no other, you gave me guidance when I was troubled, you were family to us and always will be. My children looked at you like a grandfather, we all loved you and that love will always be with us. I can see you now sitting by the pool in the afternoon when we would all have a drink, you would roll that cooler down filled with ice and pull out our favorite wine complete with cups and ice. Harriett always had lots of snacks. One of my favorite memories is seeing you grab a chunk of moldy bread, dipping it in spinach dip that one of the neighbors brought down, you had popped it in your mouth before I had a chance to stop you "mmmm" was your response, I have reminded you of that every year and we still laughed years on. I loved how you marveled at how I hold my knife and fork, we shared tools, stories and laughter. You truly are one in a million. When the angels took you from this earth they also took my little dog Polo, literally at the same time, if you see a little white ball of fluff following you around give him a big hug and tell him his mommy misses him too. He knows you, I have told him all about you so he might be looking for you. I pray for the Onda families strength, I cannot imagine your pain, know you are all loved so much by so many and I pray the Lord holds you all extra close during this heartbreaking time. My deepest condolences to all of you

Bob was one of the most decent individuals I've ever encountered. He was a true gentleman in the noblest sense of the term. He never had an unkind word for anyone and was deeply respectful of all. His loss will leave an unfillable void at St. Stephen’s including, perhaps most especially, at the after Mass Coffee & Donuts gathering. My profound condolences to Harriet, Tom and Bob along with all of his other relatives.
