CHARLES CHARLIEJOHNSON age 63 of Kentucky formerly of Cedar Lake passed away Thursday January 12 2012 He is survived by four children: Chuck (Patty) Johnson of Crown Point Shannon (Dan) Hogle of Taswell IN Amber (Steven) Flores of Crown Point and Jeff (fiancee Brittany Jillson) Johnson of Lowell 12 grandchildren sister Shirley (Robert) Cron of Kentucky several nieces and nephews great nieces and nephews his Mercer family former wife Wendy Schreiber of Cedar Lake. Preceded in death by son Christopher parents Ray and Iva Johnson brother Ray Johnson. Charlie was a graduate of Crown Point High School Class of 1968. He was a past volunteer fireman for the Cedar Lake Fire Department with 15 years of service and a truck driver for Mercer Transportation in Louisville Kentucky. He was a member of Lake Lodge F&AM 157. Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service 811 E. Franciscan Dr. (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55) Crown Point on Thursday January 19 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 20 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Pruzin & Little Chapel with Patty Johnson officiating. At rest German Methodist Cemetery Cedar Lake. Memorials preferred to the family.

Charlie Johnson gone from our world and family. He was such a blessing to those who knew him. He is/will be missed by all who knew him. He will never be forgotten. Charlie will be dearly missed at Mercer Transportation. He was a great driver and a good man. He was well liked by all and will be remembered by many who are proud to call him friend. Rest in peace.

I was sorry to hear about Charlie. Charlie was a friend from my childhood at First Baptist Church in Cedar Lake. I knew his mom and sister well. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Charlie I have fond memories of our childhood together - all the good times. May the Angels take you to Gods presences and open up the wanders of heaven and receive you in. May God Bless and be with your family. Shooty

I like to believe that when we lose someone close they live through us and give us strength. The time weve spent with those weve lost makes them part of us. Charlie was a special person and will be missed by all of his friends at Mercer. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and even though Ive never met any of you I feel like I know you through the stories Charlie shared with me over the years. It was obvious how much he loved you and he was so proud of his grandchildren. I feel blessed to have called Charlie a friend and will think of him often. My prayers are with all of you in the coming days and months.

Rip we going miss you but God has big plans for you

So sorry to hear about Charlies passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson family.

Your wonderful hugs will be dearly missed along with your great sense of humor. We will all miss the time we spent with Charlie and cherish our memories of him. Especially the stories about his grandchildren. If you have ever wondered why there was a spot of dirt on Charlies truck (I can see the smile on his face) when he would say If mother nature put it on then mother nature can take it off. How he loved to make people laugh! We will miss you Charlie rest in peace until we all get to be together again.

We were shocked to hear about this. Charlie was a special man that gave all of himself all of the time. Now he can continue to give in a different way. Say Hello to everyone Charlie and we will see everyone someday. Memory Eternal P.S. We will tell Michele that she can ride with you anywhere anytime!!!!

Behind those grumbly opions was a caring and thoughtful man. He brought many a smile to so many. We are proud to have called Charlie our friend and collegue. Our deepest sympathies and Love to you all. I will post the image of The Peace Symbol here in his memory because he always picked on me (Jane) about still wearing my Peace Symbol ring that I aquired back in 73. Then we would converse and laugh about The Hippy Years.

Words cannot express how Im feeling right now. We do not get to see each other often after weve all grown up but Charlie was like a dad to me and you all were like my brothers and sisters. It was always comforting to know that he was just out there over the road somewhere. Now well all have to feel him as he continues to be out there over the road somewhere. God Bless each of you and him as begins his next chapter. I know he and Chris will be looking over us all! Much Love!

I am so sorry to about your Loss but knowing Charlie he is just starting the next chapter of his life and whoever takes the time to sit down and really get to know him will find a very special person. Charlie and I have had some really deep conversations in the past and I have enjoyed everyone of them.. My Brother may God be with you in your Journey to the East.

The world has lost a fine man. His children have lost a loving dad. I have lost a very dear friend. God has got his hands full now.
