My Favorite Son.
Cameron Olonte Corley (The Golden Child), made his transition December 29, 2020. He was born December 1, 1970 in Michigan City, IN. He graduated from Lew Wallace High School, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he received a Certificate of Appreciation for Operation Desert Shield. He was currently employed at Westville Correctional Facility for 26 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, loving wife Sharese Corley, dad and mom Leroy and Terry Hemphill, favorite “lil sis” LaTreece Hemphill, stepsisters Lisa Hemphill and Harriett Sheppard, stepbrothers Ozell Corley Jr., Odell Corley and Rodney Hemphill, favorite nephews LaVon Tomlin Jr., and Enrique Rodriguez, favorite cousins John Carter and Revat Yarber, best friend William “Mo” Morris, friend Juan Rodriguez and a host of family and friends.
Cameron is preceded in death by grandparents Arebelle Yarber and Robert Yarber Sr., aunt Brenda Carter, uncles Dwight, Lemuel and Kevin Yarber, and cousin Bethany Yarber.
Friends are invited to visit with Cameron’s family on Friday, January 15, 2020 at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN 46360 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Private family services and burial will take place. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a maximum of 25 people will be able to gather at a time and face masks will be required as well as social distancing at 6 feet.
