Balthasar D. “Baldy” Hoffman, aged 84, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. Devoted husband of 57 years to Norma Hoffman, nee Jones. Loving father to Steven (Michelle) Hoffman and James Hoffman. Proud grandfather of Bridget, Steven, Trevor, and Justin Hoffman. Dear brother of (late) Allen (Judy) Hoffman, Deanna Winquist, Kenneth (Madeline) Hoffman, and Rosemary (Louis) Thomas. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Balthasar and Alene Hoffman, and brother Allen Hoffman.

Mr. Hoffman was a design draft-man at U.S. Steel for 30 years and Capitol Engineering for 25+ years. An honorably discharged Marine of the Second Battalion Platoon 295 of 1st Marine Division. He enjoyed watching football and cheered for Notre Dame. He was an avid pheasant hunter. He loved being with his family and making hay for his horses and cows on his hobby farm. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be will be Private for the family.

Due to Covid-19, restrictions in the Funeral Home include: social distancing at 6 feet, a maximum of 25 people at one time, and face masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Balthasar’s name to the NWI Food Bank.
