ANNA MAE GONDELL age 85 a longtime resident of Northwest Indiana and beloved daughter of the late Michael F. Gondell and the late Anna Slapcinski passed away at home on Sunday February 22 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Anna was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Gary. She was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at Blessed Sacrament Parish. After graduation from Emerson High School she worked at U.S. Steel and then the Diocesan Center of Gary for several years. Anna loved traveling baking the arts music and even played the violin. She leaves behind her loving brother Michael Raymond (Claire) Gondell loving sister Eleanor (George) Strimbu and many loving and caring nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral services for Miss. Gondell will be held Thursday February 26 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (5885 Harrison St. Merrillville) with Rev. Dennis Teles officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services at church. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville .
