Allen G. Plumley, age 71, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Allen is survived by his wife, Bette Ann Plumley (nee Ittner); daughters: Erin (Joseph) Roesch, Ashley (Nicholas) Cosme and Hannah (Shawn) Macking; grandchildren: Samuel Bai and Charles Roesch, Coral and Kai Cosme, and William “Lyle” and Hallie Macking; sister, Carol; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dennis and Carol Ittner, William Ittner, Jeanette and William Jensen and John and Carol Ittner; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents: Russell and Bernice Plumley; and brothers: Donald and Larry Plumley.
Allen was an honorable man – dedicated to his work; loyal to his friends, new friends and old friends of over 60 years; and admired by his family, especially by his wife of 41 years and his three girls. He loved flying, having earned his pilots’ license in his early 30s, and could often be found tinkering in his hangar or attending motorsports events.
Allen worked as an Aviation Insurance Adjuster and was a member of the Flying Adjuster-OFA 129 and the Knights of Columbus.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 23, 2021 DIRECTLY at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307, from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Fr. Tom Mischler officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Allen’s name to the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (dsaw.org) in honor of his youngest grandson Charlie.
